History
The Veterans Council of Indian River County was founded in 1987 with a clear mission: to honor and support those who have served our nation. Our early efforts centered on establishing significant annual tributes like our Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies and removing barriers to healthcare by providing transportation to the VA Medical Center. Recognizing the evolving needs of our veteran population, we have expanded our reach to offer direct aid and personalized case management. This includes vital support in housing, employment, education, and medical care, directly impacting the quality of life for our local heroes. By collaborating with community partners and generous donors, we strive to ensure that every veteran in Indian River County receives the support they need and deserve.
